Do you offer any discounts on your online shop?

Yes, we do offer promotional discounts from time to time, make sure you’re signed up to our newsletter and follow our social media accounts to stay up to date with the latest news.

Do you charge a delivery fee and is there a minimum order?

There is no minimum order. We like to keep things simple.

For home customers delivery is free on all orders above £40. For smaller orders we charge £4.95 as a small contribution towards the courier cost. It never covers the full amount we pay, but it helps us keep our service fair and sustainable.

For trade customers the structure is different. Trade orders do not qualify for free delivery, and the cost is calculated by weight. We charge £5.90 for every 30 kg of products. This is simply the courier rate we pay to move heavier wholesale parcels safely and reliably.

If you ever have a question about your delivery cost just contact us at sales@carleschi.co.uk and we will be happy to help.

Do the parcels require a signature?

No, they do not. We ship with Parcelforce Express 24, so your order should arrive the day after it leaves our warehouse. The less it travels, the less it’s handled, which is exactly what we want.

Parcelforce will email you with an estimated delivery time and no signature is required.

Do you deliver outside of the UK?

Yes, we do. It’s a little more involved, as international orders require commercial invoices and extra time for booking and paperwork.

If you would like a delivery outside the UK, just get in touch and we will work out the best solution for you.

You can email us at sales@carleschi.co.uk.

Do you sell your products at trade prices?

Yes, we do. All our trade partners have access to dedicated wholesale prices through our Trade Shop.

To open a trade account, simply click on the “Trade” button in the top menu on our website and fill in the short application form.

Once we receive it, we will set up your trade profile and send you a confirmation email with instructions on how to log in and access the Trade Shop.

If you ever need help, you can always write to us at sales@carleschi.co.uk.

Are your products gluten-free?

No, they are not gluten free. All our pastas contain gluten, even when made with ancient grains.

Our einkorn, spelt, and rivet wheat are naturally different from modern wheat: their gluten structure is weaker and often easier to digest for many people, but they are still forms of wheat and therefore not suitable for coeliacs.

Our pulses-based blends (like lentils or wrinkled peas) and our buckwheat lines all contain gluten too, because they are mixed with ancient wheat flours to create the right structure and texture for bronze-drawn pasta.

In short:

Our grains may be gentler, older, and more digestible for many people, but they are not gluten free and should be avoided by anyone who must follow a strict gluten-free diet.

Are your products free from genetically modified foods?

Absolutely. All our grains and ingredients are non-GM.

We are certified by the Soil Association, which audits and checks every supplier and every ingredient we use. Their standards are some of the strictest in the world and do not allow any genetically modified crops.

Our pasta is made with nothing but British-grown ancient grains, stoneground flour, water, and time. No GM ingredients, ever

What are you doing to be more environmentally sustainable?

Sustainability is at the heart of what we do. We work only with British grown ancient and heritage grains, milled fresh on stone. Keeping everything local reduces food miles, strengthens traceability, and supports a transparent farmer led supply chain.

All our grains are grown under organic standards, a farming system with zero synthetic chemicals. Organic methods protect soil structure, water, wildlife, and the people who grow our food.

Our use of pulses and buckwheat encourages diverse crop rotations. Rotations naturally rebuild soil fertility, break pest cycles, increase biodiversity, and create more resilient farming systems. Fields that stay alive and varied rather than exhausted.

We also slow dry our pasta at low temperatures. It is a gentler and more energy efficient process that respects the grain and avoids the intense heat used in industrial production.

At the packing stage, we keep things simple and honest. All our retail pasta comes in fully compostable Natureflex bags, made from renewable plant cellulose and suitable for home composting or food waste collection.

We could talk about this for hours, but the principle is straightforward: local grains, organic farming, smart rotations, slow drying, and thoughtful materials. A food system that works with nature, not against it.

Does your packaging include BPA?

No. None of our packaging contains BPA or any other controversial plastics.

We use Natureflex bags, which are made from renewable plant cellulose and are fully home compostable. They do not contain BPA, phthalates, or any petroleum based materials. Our sleeves are paper, and our larger trade formats are packed in plain paper sacks. All of these are free from BPA.

Our aim is always to choose simple, honest materials that are safe for people and kind to the environment.

Do you have any zero waste products?

Yes, you could say that our pasta is naturally close to zero waste because we only make wholegrain pasta. There is no bran removed and no leftover white flour. The entire grain is milled on stone and goes straight into the dough. Nothing is discarded.

Stoneground milling keeps all the fibre, oils, vitamins, and minerals in the flour, which is better for taste, for nutrition, and for the soil. It also avoids creating by products that have to be sold separately or thrown away, which is what happens in most white flour systems.

Choosing to make only wholegrain brown pasta is a deliberate decision. It keeps the process honest, uses the full value of the grain grown in the field, and avoids waste at every step. It is better for the environment and, in our view, better for food.
